Deck & Patio Curtains

As an outside deck and patio lover, I have compiled my top outdoor curtains ideas to turn your deck or patio into a stylish backyard oasis. If you are a follower of HOVR on Instagram, you will know that my main floor bedroom is half outdoors. Its one of my most loved places in my home. I just recently added curtains to this room and I love it even more now. I worked with KGORGE Curtains and i'm obsessed with the space I have created for myself! The curtains added some privacy as well as a little shelter for the heat of the bright summer sun. Check out the before and after pictures...

The Pergola And Its Curtain

Is it me or are pergolas popping up in every backyard I’ve been seeing all over social media this summer?! I love this style and how it gives the backyard a breezy lounge style. Hanging your curtains is easy and you can position them anyway you like. Using a hammer and nail will get you set up asap but be sure your curtain has grommets or loops for easy and damage free hanging. My go to is always a simple neutral color curtain which keeps the space soft, airy and bright. Going with a heavier curtain will create a more private, romantic space. Heavier curtains also work better if you are in a windy area as they wont fly around as much! If your curtains are flying around, I like to wrap them up around the posts for a simple look as this keeps them in one place when they are not being used. Another great option is the KGORGE windproof thermal top & bottom grommet outdoor curtains. These ones promise to never fly away!

The Anywhere Curtain

Using a tension curtain rod is super versatile and lets you convert any outdoor deck into a private or divided space. Using these as a divider is a great idea too (think of nosey neighbour). Keep in mind that this option only works with a roof over your deck or patio’s head. Zero nails with no damage to cover up and fully adjustable is what my fav anywhere curtain offers you! Using a tension rod or permanent rod is great for under the deck DIY curtains. It is an inexpensive way too add just the right amount of style to your space.

My Go To Fabrics

Sunbrella - This brand lasts long, keeps it shape and color for years and years to come! Its an investment but one that is well worth it in the end! Curtains will come in many different lengths and widths. ensure you measure first before ordering online or heading out to the stores! Check out this link HERE for the best selection.

Ikea - This place is always stocked with affordable go to fabric options. Linen, cotton, polyester and even waterproof curtains which will work in any outdoor space. Inexpensive options are a great way to keep up with trends year after year! Just make sure to reuse the fabric in some way to keep things sustainable. I used worn out ones as drop cloths for a refinishing project I was working on this year! I really love these lace ones which you can find HERE. I would suggest layering them with a solid color which will add some depth to the look you're going for. They are romantic and soft on their own as well so in the fall/winter be sure to bring them to your indoor decor.

KGORGE - My go to online shop for curtains is KGORGE. They have a sale going on now too! Be sure to check out their outdoor curtains. My go to one are the Voile Sheer Curtains which are linked here.

As always, let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions that cannot be missed about outdoor spaces be sure to leave it down in the comments as I always love to know what style my readers love!
